Lease Link Canada Corp., Canada’s premier source for both prime & non-prime finance, is pleased to announce that its affiliated company, Lease Link Acquisition Corp. has acquired all of the assets of Calgary based Lease Plus Financial, a division of Lease Plus Services Inc. With this acquisition, Lease Link is now one of Canada’s largest small ticket originators and the largest small ticket originator in Western Canada. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Lease Plus Financial was founded by Wayne and Gladys Behiels in 1990. Since then, operating from its office in Calgary, Alberta, the company has successfully grown to become a leading provider of equipment leasing and financing services throughout Alberta. Wayne and Gladys have remained very active in the company since its founding. In time, the company staff also grew to include their sons, Brent and Dean Behiels. As President, Wayne Behiels provided strong leadership to his talented team and expanded business operations while building an outstanding brand reputation for the company.

While looking forward to a well deserved retirement, and passing down the leadership responsibilities, Wayne and Gladys Behiels have much to be proud of, knowing the company they established and its faithful customers are in excellent care.

The acquired Calgary branch will continue to operate under the well established brand of Lease Plus Financial and Brent Behiels will be appointed as its President. Brent has had a long standing career in the leasing industry and has been with Lease Plus Financial since 1996.

They’ll be matched up against either Boston Bruins or the Tampa Bay Lightning next week, which should make for an interesting series since the Canucks rarely play either of those teams.

Slave Lake evacuee Byron Kashuba says the photographs he’s seen of his home town are indeed shocking.

It’s like a big hand came down and took a big chunk of our town away. It’s very catastrophic and it’s hard to believe.

Despite the devastation, he’s hoping to return home to Slave Lake as soon as he can.

It’s been my home for 23 years. If my home’s there, I’m going to help my neighbours build theirs and I’m sure everybody’s going to do likewise. We basically have to band together and continue on.
