JAMes Jang, VP OPERATIONS
With extensive experience and expertise in credit risk analysis and financial instruments, James manages the day-to-day operations of Lease Link Canada. James is passionate about helping clients grow their businesses. For the past 30 years, James has been omnipresent in the Canadian commercial finance and leasing industry: in 1994 James founded Perspective Technologies Inc., an IT Company which he sold to Imaginative Computer Solutions Inc. in 2005. In 1995, James founded and became the CEO of Can-Rim Financial Corporation, which eventually became Lease Link Canada Corp. in 1998. James is always focused on improving Lease Link’s products and services to meet the demands of the ever-changing economic climate.
Darren Brooks, Director of Finance
Darren joined Lease Link in 2007 and is responsible for oversight of financial reporting, treasury, and taxation matters. Over the last 20 years, Darren has held a number of progressive positions in the finance and accounting field. Prior to Lease Link, he worked in the indirect tax practice of a leading Canadian accounting firm. His experience also includes several years as a credit analyst with an automotive finance company. Darren obtained his CMA designation in 2004 and is a member of the Chartered Professional Accountants of British Columbia. Darren also holds a BBA from Simon Fraser University.
Steve Passant, PRESIDENT
As a founding partner of Lease Link Canada Corp., Steve oversees and manages the sales and business development side of the business. Prior to Lease Link, Steve held senior positions with several leasing corporations in the 1990’s including CIT Financial, Newcourt Financial, Comcorp Financial Services Inc. and Norex Leasing Inc. Steve was born in Red Deer, Alberta and attended the University of Calgary and the South Alberta Institute of Technology. Steve currently works out of Lease Link’s Vancouver location where he enjoys creating success for customers and building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.
Penny Thome, VP administration
Penny’s equipment finance career started in Calgary in 1993 with Commcorp Financial Services Inc. She handled all new business funding for the Western Regional Office from 1994 to 1996 before transferring into the credit department with Commcorp. In1998 Penny transferred to Vancouver with Newcourt Financial Ltd. where she became Supervisor of the Pacific Regional Branch for New Business and Credit. In 2002 Penny moved to Edmonton to join Lease Link as head of the administration department. Penny currently resides in Edmonton and holds the position of VP of Administration for Lease Link’s parent company, Credicor Financial Corp. Penny was raised in Saskatchewan and attended the Saskatchewan Technical Institute in Moose Jaw for Business Administration
